Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) is a Public Service Agency (BLU) under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia which is currently responsible for the management of 19 museums and galleries as well as 34 national cultural heritage sites in Indonesia.

Vision and Mission
As an organization that manages museums, galleries, cultural heritage sites, and endowment funds within the Ministry of Culture, with a national reach and various potentials, BLU Museum and Cultural Heritage is directed to become a strategic organization in the development of national culture. Therefore, the vision upheld by the BLU Museum and Cultural Heritage is as follows:
“To become a collaborative space for exploring cultural heritage and history that fosters creativity, social change, and the development of culturally-minded character.”

This vision is implemented through the following missions:
1. Ensuring sustainable management of collections, cultural heritage sites, and historical buildings.

Collection & Curatorial

Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) strives to present various collections of objects & intangibles that complement the history of Indonesian civilization, with quality curatorial studies. Collections from the prehistoric period, the colonial period, the independence period, to the contemporary period are spread out and presented beautifully in 18 museum units.

Additionally, there are 34 national cultural heritage sites with beauty spanning from Sabang to Merauke. The rich repertoire of this collection will be consistently maintained, with the aim of maximizing the visitor experience through compelling narratives, exhibition settings, and infrastructure provided by IHA.

Conservation

Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) is dedicated to preserving the nation's history and wealth by implementing international-standard maintenance practices, supported by experts, history and museum enthusiasts, and the community. IHA conducts conservation activities for collections and cultural heritage using an integrated scientific approach, both preventive and curative. Steps taken include enhancing data systems, improving storage facilities for collections, enhancing the expertise of management staff, and providing state-of-the-art conservation laboratory facilities and technology support.

Education & Public Programs

Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) acknowledges that scientific knowledge in civilization must be presented in a relevant and innovative manner to integrate its contents with the formal education curriculum. Other than that, preparation of the museum infrastructure such as children's rooms and museum guide books is also a priority program.

IHA has also implemented significant changes to communication programs that are up-to-date and informative, as well as a series of offline public programs to create a cultural history education ecosystem accessible and beneficial to all groups.

Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) encourages expanded collaboration with visitors and cultural heritage devotees, domestic stakeholders and international institutions as a main commitment.

In order to transform service quality, IHA manages, develops and optimizes assets professionally with the principles of preservation and sustainability.
